June is Men’s Health Awareness Month — a reminder that health is more than physical fitness or annual checkups. It’s also about mental health, emotional well-being, connection, and having honest conversations.
Too often, men are taught to “push through,” stay silent, or handle struggles alone. But stress, anxiety, depression, substance misuse, and untreated health concerns can affect anyone. Checking in with yourself and with the people around you matters.
At the Feeney Legacy Project, we believe prevention starts with connection. A simple conversation, a supportive friend, or asking someone “How are you really doing?” can make a life-changing difference.
Men’s Health Awareness Month is a chance to:
- Schedule regular health checkups
- Prioritize mental health
- Stay active in ways that feel realistic and enjoyable
- Talk openly with friends and family
- Reach out for help when needed
- Support one another without judgment
Strength is not about staying silent. Strength is being willing to speak up, listen, and care for yourself and others.
This month, FLP encourages everyone to help create communities where conversations about health, mental wellness, and substance misuse are normal, supportive, and stigma-free. Every conversation has the power to make an impact and every life matters.
