Whether you’re voting for local leaders, state representatives, or national offices, your ballot is one of the most powerful ways to shape the future of your community. Voting is more than a right; it’s a responsibility and a chance to leave a positive legacy.
At the Feeney Legacy Project (FLP), we often say that one person can make a life-changing difference. Our mission is built on the belief that ordinary people have the power to take extraordinary action. When someone experiences cardiac arrest, we encourage people to act immediately: Call 911. Start Hands-Only CPR. Be someone’s second chance.
That same spirit of action extends beyond emergency situations.
Being prepared to vote is another way to show up for your community. While casting a ballot may not save a life in that moment, it helps shape the policies, resources, and priorities that affect public health, emergency services, education, public safety, and countless other issues that touch our daily lives.
Just as FLP encourages people not to stand by during an emergency, we encourage eligible voters not to sit out Election Day. Every voice matters. Every vote matters. Communities are stronger when people participate. Nonprofit organizations play an important role in encouraging nonpartisan civic engagement because higher voter participation helps build healthier, more engaged communities.
Make a Plan Before November
A few minutes of preparation can make voting easier.
- Verify your voter registration.
- Know your polling location or voting options.
- Learn about the candidates and ballot questions from reliable, nonpartisan sources.
- Mark Election Day on your calendar and make a plan to vote.
The Feeney Legacy Project does not endorse political parties or candidates. We simply believe in the power of people taking action when it matters most.
Feeney’s legacy reminds us that one decision can change a life. This November, honor that spirit by using your voice, participating in your community, and encouraging others to do the same.
Because whether you’re responding to an emergency or participating in democracy, your actions matter.
Use your voice. Vote.
