Atlanta Jewish Film Festival – Perfect Strangers

An Israeli dinner party unravels when lifelong friends agree to leave their cellphones unlocked on the dining table, exposing dark secrets and juicy betrayals. The wonderfully wicked premise unfolds over the night of a lunar eclipse, as the close-knit group gathers to break bread and catch the celestial event. To spice things up, they agree—some of them reluctantly—to share every message and call that pops up on their phones to prove they have nothing to hide. What begins as an innocent game soon devolves into a maze of lies and revelations, as the couples (and a recent divorcé) turn on one another. Actor Lior Ashkenazi’s directorial debut puts a uniquely Israeli spin on this discomforting dramedy, based on the eponymic 2016 Italian film that has been remade in over 20 countries
