CAL_0107 Hidden A Musical December 31

HIDDEN is a musical theater piece based on the life of Ruth Kapp Hartz, who as a young Jewish girl was hidden in southern France during World War II. Forced to change her name to Renée to conceal being Jewish, Ruth and her family rely on the kindness of strangers in a small French village. This moving and uplifting story highlights resilience, resistance, allies, rescuers, and hope.

Creators David and Jenny Heitler-Klevans (Two of a Kind), spent 5 years working on the musical. David explained, “This is not the story of Anne Frank, and it isn’t about the death camps. We wanted to tell Ruth’s story in a way that connects it to events that are happening today.” Jenny continued, “With the rise of antisemitism, it feels like this story is more relevant than ever.”
