Join the Jewish Community Relations Council at our annual Peach Politics Legislative Panel and breakfast (CLOB #510). We look forward to hosting Senator John Kennedy, Senator Sonya Halpern, Representative Esther Panitch, Representative Todd Jones, and Greg Bluestein from the Atlanta Jounal Constitution. AJC’s Maya Prabhu will serve as our moderator as we explore the wide range of issues the legislature is likley to take up that will impact the Atlanta Jewish Community, including healthcare/Georgia Pathways/Medicaid expansion, legislation targeting antisemitic leafleting, codifying protections for IVF, funding mental healthcare, tort reform, school vouchers, and the use of the death penalty for persons with intellectual disabilities. We will also review the impact of recent federal decisions on state and local funding.
JCRC serves as a common table within the Atlanta Jewish Community around which individuals and organizations can discuss important issues of public policy, particularly at the state and local level. The relatively informal program will be begin at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast, followed by a panel discussion between 8 – 9 a.m. We will have an hour of discussion and networking, with an invitation by Rep. Esther Pantich to observe the House in the House Gallery including recognition of our group. We are also encouraging participants to meet with their legislators at the ropes or to arrange a meeting in their offices. We will have how-tos and contact information available.
Location: Coverdale Office Building (CLOB), Room 510
