Tragedy to Triumph: A Jewish Paralympian’s Story

South-African born Shireen Sapiro was a budding Olympic swimmer preparing to compete on the world stage but after suffering a near-fatal boating accident in her early teens, it seemed that her dreams of greatness were dashed forever.

Incredibly, through sheer perseverance, faith, and determination she overcame immense challenges and returned to professional swimming where she won multiple medals at the Paralympic Games.

Join us for an inspiring evening as Shireen shares her story with us. The evening will begin with a dessert reception followed by her talk and a Q&A session led by AJC reporter Greg Bluestein.
