Aaron David Miller, an expert on U.S. foreign policy who serves as a senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, will deliver the annual Tillie and Max Stein Family Lecture at Congregation Or Hadash on the topic “Crises, Cosmic Oy Veys and Cri de Coeurs: What 25 Years of Traveling the Negotiator’s Highway Taught Me About Life, Leadership, Winning and Losing.” The well-timed lecture will come the day after Israelis elect a new Knesset for the third time in a year.
Miller helped formulate U.S. policy toward the Middle East and participated in Arab-Israeli negotiations as a State Department employee under Democratic and Republican presidents from 1978 to 2003. He then served as president of Seeds of Peace from 2003 to 2006 and held leadership positions at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars from 2006 to 2019. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, appears as a global affairs analyst for CNN and writes articles for a range of publications.
A reception will follow his presentation. Registration and a government ID are required to attend the free event.
