At the Passover Table: Learning, Meaning, and Tradition

In partnership with Ahavat Achim Synagogue, The Dupree is hosting a three Lunch & Learn sessions led by Ahavat Achim’s rabbis, designed to help participants prepare for Passover with greater understanding, confidence, and intention. Together, the sessions explore the foundations of the holiday, the structure and meaning of the Haggadah, and practical approaches to creating an engaging seder experience for all ages.

Session 1: Unlocking the Haggadah – Your Complete Guide to the Seder with Rabbi Eric Feld | March 17: Demystify the Haggadah! From the Four Questions to the Four Cups, understand the structure, symbolism, and significance of each element of the Passover Seder. Gain confidence in leading the service and learn insider tips for pacing, explaining, and bringing the text to life. Discuss interesting ways to bring current topics into your seder experience.  

Session 2: From Egypt to your table –  The Biblical Roots of Passover w. Rabbi Laurence Rosenthal | March 10: Discover where it all began. Journey through the Exodus story and uncover the historical and spiritual foundations that make Passover Judaism’s most celebrated holiday. Learn how ancient narratives continue to speak to contemporary life and why these stories have captivated generations for over 3,000 years.

Session 3: All ages at the table – Crafting an Engaging Intergenerational Seder w. Rabbi Eric Feld | March 24: Keep everyone engaged—from toddlers to grandparents! Discover creative activities, conversation starters, and interactive elements that make your seder welcoming and memorable for every generation. Walk away with practical tools to ensure no one is checking their phone during the Maggid!
