World Herut is proud to present a special online webinar featuring Naftali Aklum, renowned educator, speaker, and founder and CEO of YERUS, for an engaging discussion titled “Being Black, Jewish, and Israeli: Navigating the Complexities.”

 

This timely and thought-provoking event will explore the unique experiences of Black Jews in Israel, identity, belonging, Zionism, and the challenges and opportunities that arise at the intersection of race, Jewish identity, and Israeli society.

 

Naftali Aklum is widely recognized for his work in promoting education, leadership, and social awareness within Israeli society.  Through his personal story and professional experience, he brings a powerful perspective on the Ethiopian Jewish community, Aliyah, integration, and the broader conversation on Jewish peoplehood.

 

Participants will have the opportunity to gain insight into:

 

•             The history and experiences of Ethiopian Jews in Israel

•             The challenges of navigating multiple identities

•             Contemporary issues facing Black Jewish communities

•             Zionism, belonging, and Jewish unity

•             Building understanding across diverse Jewish backgrounds
