Join CBH for our first in-person Shabbat Shirah since 2020! This Shabbat Shirah coincides with HIAS’s Refugee Shabbat, and at this service we will recommit to standing in solidarity with refugees and asylees around the world.
At this Shabbat of Song, you’ll hear uplifting music from the CBH Chorus and Band, as well as favorites The Mamalehs and Sunmoonpie. We’ll also be joined by two special guests: performer, composer and arranger Anthony Mordechai Tzvi Russell (of Tzvey Brider), and jazz/gospel singer Melvin Myles (of Ebenezer Baptist Church and interfaith group Lapidus & Myles). You’ll also hear the world premiere of a newly commissioned piece written by Will Robertson AND inspired by the words of Rabbi Mike.
This Shabbat Shirah marks one year since Will Robertson has taken on leadership as our Interim Music Director, and it also marks the start of Will taking a few months off to recharge from a very full year. We don’t sell tickets to Shabbat Shirah since it’s Shabbat. Instead, we hope you’ll honor Will by making a donation to CBH as a thank you for his work over this last year and throughout the pandemic.
Don’t miss this meaningful and musical Shabbat experience!
