Rabbi Shai Held in Conversation: Judaism is About Love

Congregation Shearith Israel is pleased to welcome Rabbi Shai Held, one of the most influential Jewish thinkers and leaders in America, to speak on his new book, Judaism is About Love. Rabbi Held received the prestigious Covenant Award for Excellence in Jewish Education, and has been named multiple times to Newsweek’s list of the most influential rabbis in America and to the Forward’s list of the most prominent Jews in the world. He is the author of Abraham Joshua Heschel: The Call of Transcendence (2013) and The Heart of Torah: Essays on the Weekly Torah Portion (2017). 

Join Rabbi Held for a close look at some of the core concepts of his book and discover the forgotten heart of Jewish theology and practice: love. Rabbi Held’s talk will be the closing event of Shearith Israel’s Together Again: Celebrating Community weekend.

Rabbi Held will also speak at Congregation B’nai Torah on Sunday, August 18th at 7 pm.
