ChallahFest ATL at Ponce City Market

The Spring will host ChallahFest ATL by bringing FOODISH’s first international celebration of challah to Atlanta. FOODISH is the food culture initiative of ANU – Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv. The festival is also traveling to London, Tel Aviv, New York, Boston, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

ChallahFest explores the braided loaf as a gateway to Jewish culture, Atlanta’s culinary talent and the traditions of Shabbat.

Friday, November 20: An open-to-all Shabbat dinner at The Atrium, prepared by chef Tal Baum of Oliva Restaurants, will feature remarks by FOODISH CEO Merav Oren, followed by music from British chef and DJ Falmer. Seating is limited to 150.

Saturday, November 21: From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Atlanta chefs and bakeries will present inventive challah creations at a ticketed market in the Ponce City Market Food Hall. Participants include The General Muir, Oliva Restaurants, The Daily Chew, Spiller Park Coffee and Alon’s.
