An Evening with Fred Hersch and Esperanza Spalding

The duo of jazz pianist Fred Hersch and jazz vocalist Esperanza Spalding celebrates music from their album Alive at the Village Vanguard in an evening featuring songs from the Great American Songbook, music from Brazil, and new jazz compositions.

Fifteen-time Grammy nominee Hersch, named a “living legend” by The New Yorker, and four-time Grammy winner Spalding teamed up in 2018 at the Village Vanguard in New York. Their live performance was later released in an album to benefit jazz musicians who were unable to perform during the pandemic. During this concert, audiences will witness Hersch and Spalding’s remarkable chemistry on jazz standards and new compositions penned by Hersch.
