Join us at The Temple for a special afternoon with acclaimed author Ann Hite, celebrating the release of her new book, I Am a Georgia Girl: The Life of Lucille Selig Frank, 1888–1957 (Mercer University Press, September 2, 2025).

Lucille Selig Frank was not only a central figure in one of Georgia’s most consequential chapters of history—she was also a member of The Temple. In this deeply researched and illuminating biography, Hite brings Lucille’s voice and story to the forefront, offering a nuanced portrait of a Southern Jewish woman whose life was shaped by faith, family, resilience, and the enduring legacy of the Leo Frank case.

Drawing on archival research, personal correspondence, and historical context, Hite explores Lucille’s identity as a Georgian, a Jew, and a woman navigating unimaginable public scrutiny—while remaining deeply connected to her community and congregation.

The event will feature a conversation with the author, followed by a book signing and reception. This program invites us to reflect on history, memory, and the significance of reclaiming stories rooted in our own Temple family.

Books will be available for purchase.
