The Day of Lag B’omer is celebrated as an exhibition of Jewish pride & unity. Lag B’omer (the 33rd day of the counting of the Omer) commemorates the lives of the great sages Rabbi Akiva & Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai who were examples of proud loyalty to G-d and His Torah during the Roman occupation of the land of Israel.
