Since 1980, the Pinch Hitter Program has been a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to the Atlanta community. Pinch Hitters is our annual community service project where volunteers from the Atlanta Jewish Community “go to bat” for non-medical hospital personnel on Christmas Day. Our volunteers work in four-hour shifts so our Christian brethren can spend the holiday at home with their families. Pinch Hitters is organized by the Achim/Gate City (Atlanta) Lodge #0144 of B’nai B’rith International.
In past years, hundreds of volunteers like you helped make our Pinch Hitter Program better and better. This year, we will be staffing eleven hospitals/ assisted living facilities on Wednesday, December 25th, 2019, and we need your help.
You can choose a shift at one of the following facilities. Shifts generally run from 7 to 11 (early morning), 11 to 3 (mid-day), or 3 to 7 (afternoon). You will be notified in mid-December by our volunteer coordinator for the facility where you are assigned.
Facilities: Berman Commons; Dunwoody Place; Georgian Lakeside; Historic Roswell Place (NEW!) Magnolia Place of Roswell; Solana East Cobb (NEW!), Somerby Senior Living; St. Joseph’s Hospital; The Cohen Home; VA Medical Center; and William Breman Jewish Home.

You may sign up for your Pinch Hitter choices online at www.pinchhitters.org. Or you can print the sign-up flyer to pre-register and reserve your spot at the hospital and shift of your choice. Please sign up online or mail the completed form to us at the address indicated as soon as possible because facilities and hospitals fill up fast.
If you can’t volunteer on December 25th, you can still be part of the Pinch Hitter Program by making a donation* to B’nai B’rith. Your contribution will help us continue to do the work we do each and every year. Your donation will help us defray our costs for mailings, supplies, advertising, and shirts for our volunteers.
