For decades, Hadassah’s highest honor, the Myrtle Wreath Award, has been given across the country to those who have made significant contributions to their community.

Hadassah Greater Atlanta is proud to honor the following recipients:

  • Phyllis Mayson Cohen, Myrtle Wreath for Leadership
  • Rita and Bill Loventhal, Myrtle Wreath for Philanthropy
  • Esther Feuer Panitch, Myrtle Wreath for Advocacy

The funds raised at this event will support Hadassah’s new state of the art Gandel Rehabilitation Center in Jerusalem.  Because of the repercussions of the tragedy of October 7th, 2023, with hundreds of soldiers and civilians requiring specialized inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for severe physical injuries as well as mental health support, Hadassah was able to greatly accelerate the opening of the first three clinical floors of the Gandel Rehabilitation Center.  The immediate concern was to serve the urgent needs of its patients and Israel’s Heros, including, but not limited to, physical, occupational, and psychological (PTSD) therapy.  At full capacity the Center will be able to treat nearly 400 patients on any given day, including 140 in-patient beds and an out-patient clinic able to serve 250 patients. When completed the Gandel Rehabilitation Center will be the only comprehensive rehabilitation resource in Jerusalem.
