MAJ(P) Gavin Ellman enlisted into the US Army in 2005 as a Field Artilleryman. He has served in numerous roles at the company, battalion, and brigade level and completed tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He transitioned from active duty in 2015, earning a Masters in Business Administration of Harvard Business School before working for McKinsey and Co. Most recently, MAJ Ellman was the brigade executive officer of the 648th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, which led the Georgia National Guard’s response to Hurricane Helene. Currently, MAJ Ellman also leads Core Business Strategy for Cox Automotive and serves on the Board of Trustees for Congregation Beth Jacob. He is married to Elisa (Iteld) Ellman) with whom he has four young children who do not always respect the chain of command.
Gavin will talk about balancing the responsibilities of a family, Army Reserves and his civilian career. He will also talk about the U.S. Army of today and what it means to be a Jewish Soldier.
