This summit is intended for professionals who work with youth in a Jewish setting. JPRY will highlight the ways that teachers and youth-facing staff can create supportive environments and respond to the needs of LGBTQ+ youth in their Jewish communities, with a focus on those working with trans and non-binary youth.
We’re excited about our lineup of speakers and activities for the day – it’s going to be an incredibly enriching and meaningful summit! Highlights include:
- A youth keynote from Ezra Isbister (they/them), a 13-year-old 7th grader who is very excited to get the chance to advocate for queer youth in partnership with SOJOURN
- Sessions from Rabbi Bronwen Mullin of SVARA, making the queer-focused yeshiva’s first-ever visit to Atlanta
- Dr. Jodi Greenwald will return to JPRY to address myths and realities about youth gender-affirming care
- Breakout tracks for creating spaces of belonging, mental health support, and queer Talmud study
- A session on navigating the LGBTQ+ legislative landscape as Jewish institutions
- The Flowers For Our People photography exhibit from Keshet’s Sage Cassell-Rosenberg, which reimagines iconic figures from Jewish texts through the lens of LGBTQ+ Jews of Color
The location details will be sent to participants once they register.
