Through two decades of teaching thousands of educators, the Center for Israel Education has learned that our annual enrichment workshop on modern Israel works best when schools, synagogues, youth groups, and other local and national organizations send teams of educators to learn together.

So for CIE’s 21st annual summer workshop, to be held online July 24 to 26, the Center is providing the ultimate incentive: Registration is free for cohorts of three or more from one institution.

The registration fee otherwise is $75 until June 6 and $150 after that.

The free-for-three offer encourages, for example, Jewish day schools to send administrators and secular studies teachers as well as Judaics teachers to expand skills on implementing content into a curriculum that incorporates aspects of Israel across subjects and grade levels.

2022 CIE Virtual Educator WorkshopAs with the first 20 annual workshops, the past two of which were also held exclusively via Zoom, the July event will provide value even for those who attend alone. We shall focus on expanding content and pedagogical tools that have an impact on kindergartners through adults in their learning about Israel.

The educator enrichment workshop offers sessions that build a comprehensive understanding of modern Israel’s history, politics, economy, society and culture and that provide tools and tips for curriculum development and classroom experiences.

With more than 14 hours of learning over three days, as well as optional opportunities to study pedagogy and time to process each day’s lessons, the workshop features experienced curriculum, academic and content specialists and offers educators experiences tailored to their needs.

The mix of new offerings means that the workshop will benefit previous attendees as well as first-timers. With Israel’s celebration of its 75th anniversary in 2023, we shall provide materials that look at Israel’s road to independence and since.

Sessions will be held from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET all three days and from 7 to 8:30 ET the first two nights. For the benefit of those who cannot attend all sessions live or who wish the opportunity to review sessions later, CIE will make video recordings available to registered participants.
