The ADL Southeast Regional office serves Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee with anti-bias education programs, advocacy work, and investigation of hate incidents.

The ADL Southeast Regional Internship Program provides professional development training for college and graduate school students seeking real-life experience in the non-profit sector. It is an unpaid internship with the opportunity to receive college credit in accordance with school policies. 10-15 hours per week are preferred.

DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

The Development Intern will work closely with the Development Team on fundraising activities including donor relations, fundraising events, and other fund development activities. The intern will provide administrative support for our donor database, mailings, acknowledgments, and recognition. The Development intern will assist the team with donor recruitment and stewardship. The Intern will also assist with messaging and communications strategies, including marketing and social media related to development and fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Development team to execute fund development goals, programs and plans.
  • Assist with social media and marketing, including collateral materials related to donor development, recruitment, and retention (Facebook, Constant Contact, print media, etc.).
  • Support staff in their work to cultivate, steward, and solicit existing and additional donors.
  • Support staff with annual and special fundraising campaigns, events, and activities.
  • Recruit, assist with coordination, and help oversee volunteers for fund development and fundraising activities.
  • Perform other duties as designated by Development team.

  • Discretion when dealing with sensitive issues.

REGIONAL OPERATIONS

The Regional Operations Intern will work directly with Regional Staff on projects relating to education, community engagement, hate crimes, extremist groups, anti-Semitism, law enforcement outreach and regional operations. Projects involve program administration, research, report and correspondence writing, database management, assisting with meeting and event planning, community outreach and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach to community members and leaders on an ADL issue of concern
  • Prepare press releases and advisories
  • Draft minutes of meetings between ADL and community leaders or organizations in order to support regional community relations and outreach.
  • Provide administrative support to special events and board or community meetings.
  • Research and prepare reports and presentations on hate crime data and other ADL issue areas.
  • Update prospect lists for education programs, including ensuring that contact lists for local school districts are current.
  • Assist in administrative tasks for Regional Education programs, including outreach and marketing, compiling program materials, and evaluation.
  • Review program proposals from schools participating in ADL’s No Place for Hate® program and provide recommendations for approval or enhancement to ADL education staff.
  • Assist in communication with No Place for Hate® coordinators by providing updates and resources for program implementation in their schools.
  • Assist Regional Staff in implementing marketing initiatives, including regular updates of social media and websites.
