Seeing through their Eyes: Palestinians and Haredim with Yirmiyahu Danzig

As Zionists, we speak constantly (often derisively) about Palestinians and Haredim. But how often do we stop to see the world as they see it? And what happens when we encounter a story from the inside rather than through our narrow, untested assumptions?

Join educator and content creator Yirmiyahu Danzig as he takes us into two under-explored worlds at the heart of Israel’s prickliest debates. After Yirmiyahu presents the Palestinian and Haredi narratives, participants will discuss what they saw, compare interpretations, and examine how identity, history, and lived experience shape what each of us believes to be true.

Expect a provocative, deeply thought-provoking evening for people willing to question their assumptions, encounter unfamiliar truths, and discover how different things look depending on where you stand.

Yirmiyahu Danzig is a digital educator and content creator for Unpacked (an OpenDor Media brand), specializing in Jewish diversity, history, and identity. After receiving his B.A. in Homeland Security and Public Diplomacy from IDC Herzliya and studying at Machon Meir Yeshiva, he served as a squad commander in Magav (the Israeli Border Police) in a unit responsible for counterterrorism operations and peacekeeping in the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. Inspired by the lives of his ancestors — those who lived in the Old City of Jerusalem for generations, and those who survived the sugar plantations of the Caribbean — Yirmiyahu is a dedicated educator-activist.

Yirmiyahu regularly speaks at joint Israeli-Palestinian events navigating competing narratives and aspirations, and lectures Israeli and Diaspora audiences on Jewish identity, diversity, and antisemitism. His articles have been published by The Forward and the Times of Israel. Yirmiyahu also produces educational content on Instagram and TikTok. He speaks Hebrew, English, Arabic, Yiddish, and Guyanese Creole.
