One of ATL’s best jazz vocalist, Karla has performed all over the US and abroad. You can all catch her this year at the ATL Jazz Festival.

Vocalist Karla Harris, known for dynamic diversity within the music, has made a career within the art form she loves for decades, performing for audiences from Portland to Provence, including at events such as the Sarasota Jazz Festival, Portland Jazz Festival, Oregon Coast Jazz Party, Nantucket Arts Festival, Atlanta Jazz Party, and a TED Talk. Critics acclaimed her 2015 album, Karla Harris Sings the Dave and Iola Brubeck Songbook, featuring jazz All-Stars Dave Weckl, Tom Kennedy, Bob Sheppard and Ted Howe. Of the record, Jazziz wrote, “The Brubecks would be proud,” and its contemporary take on “Take Five” receives international airplay. Harris’ latest album, Certain Elements, a suite of original music and cover tunes that joins together her influences of contemporary jazz, Latin, swing and blues, reached #44 on the prestigious Jazz Week chart. The album’s first single, a romantic remake of the ‘60s hit “Cherish,” is played on radio around the globe.

Harris is an artist-in-residence at Kennesaw State University teaching Applied Vocal Jazz. She lives in northwest Atlanta with her family and one sassy poodle.
