You+2 was created by a group of Jewish women who came together in solidarity after the horrific events in Israel on October 7, 2023. There was a commonality that they were all unexpectedly experiencing… They were all receiving messages from friends who were not Jewish asking: “How are you doing? How can we support you, Israel, and the Jewish people? How can we learn more about what is going on in Israel?” From these genuine concerns and real-time questions, You+2 was born. You+2 will educate and bridge an understanding to promote dialogue about Jewish/Israel’s history, the Israel-Hamas war, and local and worldwide antisemitism amongst people of all faiths. You+2 began with the idea of “You Bring Two Friends” of a different faith to the first event, and since then, You+2 has been blessed to evolve into something more far-reaching and encompassing throughout the Atlanta area.
AA’s Response to Antisemitism and Hate Committee is working to increase awareness and understanding of antisemitism among our synagogue community as well as partners from other faith communities through education, advocacy, and programming. We strive to educate everyone about the federal and state laws that prohibit antisemitism as well as how to identify and report antisemitic activities that threaten the safety and security of our students and community. We work with faith leaders and diverse communities to increase their awareness of antisemitism and to help fight against antisemitic rhetoric and actions. This will be accomplished through engaging and educational programming including speakers, panels, online resources, and more.
