Gallery Opening for Reflections: Art by Flora Rosefsky

MACoM is pleased to welcome Flora Rosefsky as the newest artist in our gallery space. Flora Rosefsky “draws” with scissors, paper, pigments and ephemera (photos, letters and memorabilia) to create intimate, one-of-a-kind works of art. Her whimsical cutouts and mixed media pieces dance with color and brim with emotion. Her works of art are often inspired by her Jewish heritage; through her art, she interweaves her secular world “with a unique spirituality.”

Flora has been a visual artist based in Atlanta for the past 24 years.  It wasn’t until she raised her four children in Upstate New York  that she decided to pursue a  career as a visual artist where she studied  art at Syracuse University and Binghamton University.   Since moving to Atlanta, Flora has been featured in dozens of group exhibitions, selected public exhibitions, solo shows and work reproduced in publications throughout the country.  MACoM, Reflections: Art by Flora Rosefsky, concentrates primarily on her Jewish rituals work and series on birds, Songs of Praise.  MACoM was very fortunate to have an original collage, Ritual Immersion, created specifically for the exhibit.
