CAL_0923 Connecting the Expecting New Beginnings Jewish Traditions for Welcoming Baby September 15

As we prepare to enter a new year, many expecting parents are also preparing for one of life’s most meaningful new beginnings—the arrival of a baby.

Join a rabbi and a pediatric surgeon/mohel for a thoughtful conversation about Jewish traditions surrounding pregnancy, birth, baby-naming ceremonies, and brit milah (bris). Together we’ll explore both traditional and contemporary approaches to welcoming a new baby, the meaning behind these rituals, and the many ways families today choose to mark this special lifecycle moment.

Whether you’re Jewish, part of an interfaith family, LGBTQ+, welcoming your first child or growing your family, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of Jewish traditions and ideas to help create meaningful beginnings for your family’s next chapter.

As we reflect on the hopes and possibilities of a new year, we’ll also celebrate the hopes, dreams, and anticipation of welcoming a new baby into the Jewish community.
