Americover 2018 National Stamp Collecting Show

The national stamp collecting show devoted to first day covers will be held for the first time in the Atlanta area: Americover 2018 is August 3-5 at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast, 5993 Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Peachtree Corners. Admission and parking are free. Show hours are 10-5 Friday and Saturday, 10-4 on Sunday. Americover features exhibits of rare and unusual “FDCs,” dealers, meetings and seminars, and an active youth table.

A first day cover (FDC) is an envelope or card with a new stamp or stamps, and postmarked on the first day the stamps went on sale. Often, these envelopes and cards are specially decorated with “cachets” (designs on the envelopes), and reflect a wide range of art and ingenuity.
