Alpharetta Plein Air Exhibition

Arts Alpharetta will host the inaugural Paint the Town Alpharetta Plein Air between May 18-22, 2021. Paint the Town is a 5-day juried plein air invitational where artists of all media from around the country will paint the beautiful outdoor locations around our charming southern city. Plein air, from the French en plein air, is the method of painting outdoors directly from life and has become a wildly popular practice with artists across the world. Residents and visitors are invited to see the artists in action during this week-long event.

Following the 5-day invitational, the art pieces created by participating artists will be on display at the Alpharetta Arts Center from May 22 – 29, 2021 for the public to visit, study, and purchase. Sales of the artists’ works will be encouraged to the public with one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate the City of Alpharetta. Proceeds from the event will fund two Arts Alpharetta initiatives: Take Out Art, which supplies free art kits for children in our community, and the Public Art Fund, supporting the lease of public art in partnership with the City of Alpharetta.
