From July 28-August 2, 2019, the Atlanta community will welcome more than 1,600 visiting teens and their families from across the nation. They will join more than 400 local teens, 600 host families, 500 volunteers and thousands of spectators. Over the course of the week, teens from around North America will compete in a variety of sports. Along the way, they’ll experience Rachmanus (compassion) during the competition and Tikkun Olam (Repair the World) while participating in community service. Since 1982 the JCC Maccabi Games® have offered more than 140,000 Jewish teens a unique social, cultural, and life-shaping experience. The Games serve a larger purpose than athletic competition, promoting community involvement, teamwork, and pride in being Jewish. The energy and excitement make the Games® an unforgettable experience for every participant, from athlete to volunteer, from coaches to host families. Atlanta has proudly hosted the JCC Maccabi Games® once before, in 2001. Those Games showed that hosting the JCC Maccabi Games® brings the Metro Atlanta community together in an experience that transcends the week-long itinerary. Together, the Games will strengthen the entire community, empower the next generation of leaders and celebrate our values and traditions.
