Responding to the generational trends on the Jewish landscape, many Atlanta organizations serve the progressive Jewish community by offering you opportunities to engage with and pay only for what you want – Jewish education, camp, and more – without joining a synagogue. As more people engage with Judaism primarily through these avenues, they have no place to call upon a rabbi for their lifecycle, pastoral, and spiritual needs.

But there are moments when the personal care of a rabbi is exactly what you need. These are not everyday moments; instead, they are the once in a lifetime lifecycle, or the rare crisis, when only the expertise of a rabbi can meet you exactly where you are and help you cut a path to where you want to be.

Meet Your Jewish Bridge, an Atlanta-based resource that provides access to Jewish lifecycle and pastoral services on a fee-for-service basis. Your Jewish Bridge offers rabbinic services that meet you where you are, as you wish to be served, bringing a new set of rich Jewish resources to a huge and growing population in Atlanta.

Your Jewish Bridge has a full time rabbi dedicated to serving the needs of the larger, unaffiliated Jewish community, with progressive, deeply personalized, engaged clergy support at those symbolic and vulnerable moments, on a fee-for-service basis.

Services include:

  • Weddings

  • Baby Namings / Brit Milah

  • Bar and Bat Mitzvah Ceremonies

  • Conversions

  • Bereavement

Your Jewish Bridge is a project of Congregation Bet Haverim, which has long served as a sort of de-facto home for Jews who felt somewhat on the periphery of the organized Jewish community. Founded in 1986 by gay men and lesbians, CBH is known for its open doors, its “come as your whole self” spirit, music, creativity, spirituality and emphasis on social justice. Rabbi Joshua Lesser has been CBH’s spiritual leader for nearly 20 years.
