The Feeney Legacy Project is hosting the 2nd Annual Feeney’s 5K Fun Run at Decatur Legacy Park on April 13, 2025, at 9:30. Legacy Park is a growing park in Decatur with an easy Trail Course for trail runners, walkers, walk & run, shady and all in nature!

If you cannot make it on April 13 JOIN the Virtual Run. You may ask “what is a virtual run?”:

  • JOIN Virtual Run, then make your action plan
  • Anytime, anywhere between March 17 and April 13
  • Choose any movement like walk, run, ride, kayak, skip, cartwheel, anything that works for the participant
  • Examples of Virtual Participants in 2024: Motorcycle Ride around Kansas City, trail walk in Guam, walking down the street with a walker, riding a bike on the beach, a family dance at the beach, run a marathon in Baltimore, hike in San Jose, swimming laps, walk in St Simons, pushing a wheel chair in Italy, St Patrick’s Day stroll in Savanah, walking with a dog–fun times!

The Feeney Legacy Project (FLP) educates kids and adults, ages 13-45, that when with someone in medical crisis:

  • Immediately Call 911
  • Start Hands Only CPR
  • KNOW the caller has legal protection provided by The Good Samaritan Law and the Georgia 9-1-1 Medical Amnesty Law–LIFE over LAW​

Kathy Feeney Armistead founded the 501c3 Non-Profit in memory of her son, Feeney, whose death could have been avoided had 911 been called immediately. April 13 2022, Feeney went into cardiac arrest and, tragically, the friend he was with did not call 911.

It is FLP’s goal to teach all to have the natural instinct to save a life–DO NOT THINK, DO!–so that no one else experiences such a heartbreaking loss of a loved one.
