David began his career when he fell in love of Hebrew calligraphy in 1968. He is responsible for the revival of the hand-made Ketubah, created an important Haggadah and is a partner in the Tree of Life Shtender project. Whether creating books, prints, ritual objects, educational programs, or helping design Jewish communal buildings, David synthesizes text and tradition with the spark of creativity and meticulous craftsmanship. He co-founded Kol HaOt, which harnesses the power of the arts for Jewish inspiration, leads The Teachers Institute for the Arts, which brings his educational vision into day schools throughout North America and produces an ongoing series of limited editions works for a group of individual and institutional subscribers.

 

His work has been exhibited or  is in the collections of major libraries and museums such as The British Museum, Duke University, Widener Library, Harvard University Libraries, Hebrew Union College, Getty  Museum, Israel Museum (Jewish Theological Seminary,  Library of Congress Magnes Museum,  National Library of Canada,  New York Public Library,  Princeton University Library, Skirball Museum, Stanford University Library,  Tel Aviv Museum, Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, Yale University Library, Yeshivah University Museum.  He is the recipient of the Jesselson Prize of the Israel Museum.   For more information, visit www.davidmoss.com.
