Take Your Seat A Jewish Woman’s Guide to Financial Empowerment and Protection

October 26, 2015 Atlanta Free

The Jewish Women’s Fund of Atlanta (JWFA) presents Take Your Seat: A Jewish Woman’s Guide to Financial Empowerment and Protection. JWFA, a collective of nearly 90 local philanthropists, promotes social change and empowerment through grant-making, education, and advocacy. JWFA empowers women to be leaders, philanthropists, and decision makers. Earlier educational seminars explored addiction, poverty, and nonprofit board leadership.

An expert panel featuring Abbey Flaum, a partner at Cohen Pollock Merlin & Small, P.C.; Lisa Haynor, a partner at Habif, Arogeti & Wynne, LLP; and Emily Sanders, managing director at United Capital Financial Advisers, will educate participants about the importance of taking an active role in managing their own finances. The panel will also address red flags to watch out for when working with lawyers, accountants, and other financial professionals.

Take Your Seat is designed for women of all ages, backgrounds, wealth ranges, and marital status.  According to Barbara Stanny, bestselling author and a leading authority on women and wealth, “if women are really going to change the world and make a difference, they need to understand money.” This seminar aims to accomplish that goal, while at the same time educating women on how to strike a healthy balance between trusting others while protecting against victimization.
