Join SOJOURN on Sunday, January 15 as part of Repair the World Atlanta’s Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend of Service as we serve a meal for youth facing homelessness at Covenant House Georgia! Covenant House opens doors of opportunity and hope to youth experiencing homelessness and escaping trafficking.
LGBTQ+ youth are overrepresented in people experiencing homelessness – 28% of LGBTQ youth report experiencing homelessness or housing instability at some point in their lives. These rates are higher for trans and nonbinary youth – 38% of transgender girls/women, 39% of transgender boys/men, and 35% of nonbinary youth report experiencing homelessness or housing instability. At SOJOURN, our commitment to advancing and celebrating gender and sexual diversity across the South includes supporting our vulnerable youth populations.
We can expect to serve about 60 youth – if you sign up for a food slot, please bring enough for about 20 people!
