Awe-inspiring mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato brings this empowering theatrical performance to concert halls throughout the world, entreating us all to reflect on how we find peace in the midst of chaos. Divided into two sections, “War” and “Peace,” the evening features arias including Dido’s dignified, but searing “Lament” from Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and Almirena’s haunting and heartbreaking “Lascia ch’io pianga” from Handel’s Rinaldo.
