It’s Winter break. Bored at Home? Need something to do? End the year with a fun, family service day! JF&CS needs some holiday helpers to come assist with these projects:
Project 1: Food Pantry Sort
The JF&CS Kosher Food Pantry is an essential program that serves over 100 community members facing food insecurity every week. Those in need have access to nutritious, shelf stable food and fresh produce.
Volunteers will sort food donations for the Kosher Food Pantry that are collected at the MJCCA Christmas Event into categories such as cereal, pasta, canned vegetables, etc. This will ensure the Food Pantry inventory is well-organized, and ready for our shelves.
New Year’s Eve Celebration Kits for ILP Residents
The JF&CS Zimmerman-Horowitz Independent Living Program (ILP) enables adults with disabilities to live as independently as possible in a 24-hour shared home or in their own home.
Join us at JF&CS as we create New Year’s Eve celebration kits to help clients ring in the new year. We will be decorating the kits and filling them with fun activities, decor, and party items.
You are sure to put a smile on their faces when they open these treat bags.
Remote Project: Ben Massell Dental Clinic (BMDC) Hygiene Kits
For more than 100 years, the BMDC has been providing comprehensive, quality dental care, social services, and health screenings at no cost to those who cannot afford it.
Grab a group of friends and family to assemble dental hygiene kits for patients to take home after their appointments.
Each bag should include a travel-size toothpaste & mouthwash, floss, and toothbrush. Please stick to brands like: Crest, Sensodyne, Listerine, and Scope. We accept hygiene kits in Ziploc, brown paper, or small gift bags.
You can also include a short note to a patient with encouraging words to make them smile!+ More... - Less...
