This series will introduce an insightful and fascinating new five-part online speaker series, presented by five outstanding Hadassah Jewish educators via Zoom:

February 2: We’re proud to have Daniel Aschheim, Ph.D., Consul for Public Diplomacy for the Consulate General of Israel to the Midwest, opening the Heralding Our Heroines Speaker Series with remarks at the start of this first session as a prelude to:

Jewish Women CEO’s of the 20th Century: Leah Stern Reicin, past National Hadassah Vice President and renowned speaker, shares the stories of women leaders inside the “boardrooms” of Hadassah throughout our history.

February 9: Heroines of the Holocaust Faye Levinson, the daughter of Holocaust survivors, delves into the roles of women during one of the darkest periods in our history.

February 16: Jewish Women Nobel Prize Winners Leah Polin, Jewish and Israel educator and lecturer, introduces us to high-achieving Jewish women who have won this coveted prize in a largely male-dominated domain

.February 23: Fabulous Jewish Women Inventors Hyma Levin, Director of Education Emerita of Beth Emet Synagogue, guides us along the path of both known and unknown Jewish women inventors who have changed our world with their achievements.

March 2: Israel’s Female Voice: “Rachel” and Naomi Shemer Dr. Efrat Efron, Professor Emerita at National Lewis University, spotlights the Israeli singer, songwriter, and composer Naomi Shemer and the famous poet, Rachel, whose poems she set to music. All sessions will be moderated by Barbara Robbin Epstein, 2017-2020 Co-Chair of the Hadassah Chicago-North Shore Education Committee and lifelong teacher.
