Keynote Holocaust Survivor speaker: Ella Blumenthal – joining us from Cape-Town, South Africa.
Ella Blumenthal was born in Warsaw, Poland on August 15, 1921. After the Nazi invasion of Poland, life became increasingly difficult for Jews. Ella and her family were deported to the Warsaw ghetto. Ella was a direct witness to the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. She survived in hiding at Mila 19, but was later betrayed and deported. She is a survivor of Majdanek, Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen where she was liberated by the British on April 15, 1945.
Ella just celebrated her 100th birthday. She continues to live life with passion, zest, optimism and faith.
