January 27, 2021 Atlanta Free
EJH- Jan 27

Please join End Jew Hatred and the Atlanta Israel Coalition for a socially distanced event at the Besser Holocaust Memorial Garden at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (5342 Tilly Mill Road, Atlanta, GA, 30338) on Wednesday, January 27 from 6:00-6:30 PM.

Registration required due to security. Please RSVP at https://ejh-holocaust-remembrance-day-vigil-atlanta.eventbrite.com.    Social distancing and masks are a must.  Rain or shine we will be at the Holocaust memorial for this special Vigil.

In 2005, The United Nations General Assembly designated January 27 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.  January 27 is the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Each year on this day and every day, we honor the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust.

In recent months and years, there has been a disturbing resurgence of anti-Semitism expressed online, in public events, and through physical attacks on Jews.  On International Holocaust Remembrance Day — Wednesday, January 27, 2021 — it is particularly important to recognize the tragedy of the Shoah and to raise our voices publicly against continuing attacks and violence against Jews.

We take this day very seriously. We firmly believe that only thru proper communication between Jews and non-Jews, and only through proper education among us can we ensure that we create a better future.

End Jew Hatred is hosting simultaneous vigils around the world to demand justice for Jews. Atlanta is joining New York City, Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Berlin, Toronto, Israel, and with more communities in the process of signing up.

As fierce supporters of the ideology to end Jew-hatred, these days should not only be about a hashtag we use on social media but also should be followed by action and unity.

Our vigil is to honour the memory of the over six million Jews who were murdered by Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945. It is also to inspire the Jewish people to take their future into their own hands, to heal from the trauma of the holocaust and to fight for an end to Jew hatred in this generation.

About Us

#EndJewHatred is a grassroots movement centering on Jewish liberation from all forms of oppression and discrimination. We are working to eliminate Jew hatred from Western culture through peaceful direct action and education. We reject all partisan political affiliations and take no positions on issues unrelated to Jew hatred and its eradication.

For centuries, discrimination and oppression against women and minority groups was tolerated as an unavoidable part of life. Thanks to the tireless efforts of civil rights activists, this is no longer the case. An international conversation and change is taking place to free women and minorities from the bigotry and bad behavior which has held them back for so long. We need the same conversation about the eradication of Jew hatred now!

Jew hatred is structural and systemic, and has been a fixture of European and American society for 2,000 years. It’s time to end it.

We demand a world in which Jews can live free of discrimination, hatred and oppression. A world in which our civil rights and human rights are protected by laws, and our inclusion in society is backed by societal consequences for those who dare violate our rights.

The Atlanta Israel Coalition was founded in late 2018 by a group of committed volunteers who strive to unite the pro-Israel community in Atlanta and beyond. As a non-partisan non-profit group, the AIC seeks to inspire and educate through a collective effort. Through inclusive educational and community events, the AIC unifies a broad audience, regardless of faith or political affiliation. The AIC is a gathering place for multi-faceted conversations that combat media bias, a connector to foster a spirit of cooperation amongst pro-Israel organizations, and a means by which to amplify our collective pro-Israel missions.
