AJFF Every Mother's Son

In the wake of the resurgent movement for racial justice, the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival continues its commitment to community dialogue and human rights with a special edition of In Conversation, featuring the award-winning documentary Every Mother’s Son and a webinar discussion.

Powerful and heartbreaking, Every Mother’s Son is the story of three ordinary women-turned-activists, whose sons were unjustly killed by New York City police officers. Despite vastly different backgrounds—Black, Jewish and Puerto Rican—their personal tragedies are transformed into action.

Winner of the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival Audience Award, Every Mother’s Son is as riveting and timely as ever, while also troubling evidence of the lack of police reform in the decade-plus since the film’s original release.

Watch the film and then join the webinar on Thursday, June 25 at 7:30 PM for a discussion on the larger national movement for racial equality and against police brutality.

Panelists include: Georgia ACLU Executive Director Andrea Young, filmmaker Tami Gold, AJC Atlanta Regional Director Dov Wilker, and former Fulton County Commission chair John Eaves. Moderated by Rabbi Peter Berg of The Temple.
