Why submit to the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival?
A celebration of international and independent cinema, Atlanta’s largest film festival and the world’s premier Jewish film festival attracts nearly 40,000 filmgoers. AJFF showcases a diverse collection of outstanding narrative and documentary works that broadly explore universal themes of identity, history and culture, as well as life in the State of Israel.

Our Vision
Inspire communities to new levels of social and cultural understanding.

Our Mission
Entertain and engage diverse audiences with film through a Jewish lens.

AJFF hosts visiting filmmakers and other speakers, and attracts widespread industry participation and media coverage. In addition to Audience Awards for Best Narrative and Documentary Feature, and Best Short Film, AJFF offers Jury Prizes across six categories—Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature, Short, Emerging Filmmaker, Human Rights, and Building Bridges—deliberated by an esteemed panel of filmmakers, journalists and experts.

The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival is a nonprofit organization, supported by corporate, foundation, government and individual sponsors. AJFF is also recipient of a grant from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which aims to cultivate future filmmakers from nontraditional backgrounds and promote motion pictures as an art form.

It is a pleasure and a privilege for AJFF to consider your submission for the 2022 AJFF. We look forward to receiving your application and screener no later than Friday, November 5, 2021. Additional information is available at ajff.org.

Submission Guidelines
AJFF is open to U.S. and international entries. English language or English subtitles only. Submission materials will not be returned. To qualify for consideration, all submissions must have some cultural or historical relevance to the Jewish experience or life in Israel. Industrial and instructional works are not eligible.

AJFF retains sole discretion to accept or decline submissions for any reason. Submission of a film does not guarantee exhibition in the festival. The decision of the AJFF Film Evaluation Committee is final.

AJFF will consider all films regardless of any prior or pending commercial, theatrical or television play. However, preference is given to those entries that have not been viewed previously within the Atlanta market. Applicants for selected film entries will be directly notified at least two months prior to the festival. Declined applicants will be notified by email following the decision of the AJFF Film Evaluation Committee.

Update Regarding COVID-19
Exact dates and exhibition details for next year’s Atlanta Jewish Film Festival are still in development due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. A hybrid format that includes in-theater and virtual screenings is anticipated, modeled to ensure both the highest exhibition standards as well as the safety of audiences. Please advise AJFF as to any special terms or conditions pertaining to participation in a hybrid edition of the 22nd annual Atlanta Jewish Film Festival in February 2022.
