AHIMSA HOUSE CELEBRATES 108,000 NIGHTS OF SAFE SHELTER FOR PETS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS
Local Charity Raises Awareness for Animal Victims of Domestic Violence at Annual Gala
ATLANTA, February 17, 2020—Ahimsa House, Georgia’s first and only nonprofit organization dedicated to helping both human and animal victims of domestic abuse, is hosting its annual “Joining Hands and Paws” celebration on Saturday, March 7, to raise awareness of pet victims of domestic violence.
Domestic violence victims’ love for their four-legged family members can create life-threatening delays in leaving a harmful situation. More than 50 percent of domestic abuse victims delay escaping because of concern about their pets.
At the Joining Hands and Paws annual celebration, a former Ahimsa House client will be sharing her story about seeking safety from domestic violence with her two dogs.
When Saturday, March 7, 6:30 p.m. ET
Where: Monday Night Brewing Garage (933 Lee Street, Atlanta, GA 30310)
